I see a well of eternal darkness
A childhood spent in sadness,
Yet hope to come across a marvellous light
With an unheard feeling of fear and fright.

Yes, this is a survivor of sexual abuse
But it wasn’t something that I choose.

My innocence was taken away
Despite whatever my abusers say,
My world was lonely, isolated ,
dark and plain

The sanity which was lost was hard to regain.

Yes, this is a survivor of sexual abuse
But it wasn’t something that I choose.

I was told to be quiet
Gradually I was afraid being in sight,
As was unaware of this disgusting feeling
Got stuck with my haunted dreams between the four walls and the ceiling.

Yes, this is a survivor of sexual abuse
But it wasn’t something that I choose.

So, just help me keep the door open as you leave
Inspite of being trapped here I still need air to breathe…..

I want to scream but no one listens
Again, I want to scream
but is unheard.

So, listen dear ADULTS…,
You should’ve known that I was just a child
I ought to be guided,
I should’ve learnt the grey areas
Hidden in the corners of our black and white world.

Early sexual education, is an obvious key
Don’t just think of letting it be.

Let’s together call everyone out from the darkness
into THE PHENOMENAL LIGHT
Get yourself equipped for the battle
And continue to fight for the sake of an abused child….
