International Women’s Day is a point to reflect upon the progress made so far, to call for change, and to celebrate acts of courage and achievements made by women. Women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of our country and community are felicitated. It is celebrated on 8th March. Contributions of women in every sphere of life is immense. They deserve the love and support from the world on this special day. As I have put it, this is an opportunity to celebrate women’s talents and achievements. It’s important for us to reflect and support each other, and to take a stand for women’s rights and equality. This day means a lot to Indian women. We should do more to empower women and make India a woman-friendly country. National Women’s Day is celebrated in India on 13th February, the birth anniversary of the strong woman leader Sarojini Naidu. Feminism is a belief that considers man and woman to be equal. Despite the progress made by Indian feminist movements, women living in modern India still face many issues of discrimination. Indian society still expects women not to dream, not to express themselves and not to be independent. Our society wants women to follow the old-school mentality of being under strict patriarchal control. Our society fails to give women the space and freedom they need. Hundreds of schemes, speeches, Bills are made for women empowerment, but the plight of women is still far from developed. Hence, this day is an opportunity where Indians can take a stand for women. It’s not about women having power over men; it’s about women having power over themselves. More than ever, we need to support and celebrate each other, complement each other, give words to encourage each other and empower each other. No force is more powerful than that of determined women. Men have been told that a woman is a mere possession. It’s the duty of parents to teach their sons that the only way to be a better man is to respect women. And teach our daughters to stand on their own feet. That’s when our society will change. On this day, let’s start appreciating our own worth and each other’s worth. Women are not just ‘child-bearers’, they have their own identity. Wishing you a day filled with goodness and warmth. Wishing you happiness, today and forever. Happy Women’s Day. I hope you never wait for an invitation to create the change you want to see in the world. The way you talk, think and act can create a ripple effect that will benefit everyone. It’s time we recognise that feminism is not about making women strong. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way our society perceives this strength. Dear ladies, love yourself and society will respect you. Feminism should not be perceived as hostility against men, because Me asking for My rights will not deprive You

As a mother: You are the ground for my existence,
You incubated me like a bird in your womb,
You potent my ribs and practised my tongue to be moved,
You feed me under the shadow of your Love,
You shined my eyes and filled energy in my frail body,

As a Sister: my suffering heart and hurtful
Voices always kept and turned by you,
You bestowed me smiles and protected my tears,

As a Wife: you are the one who completed my existence,
The one who is a composure of my spirit,
And defines my success,

You own hundreds of roles and status,
You are the origin of bravery and patience,
You are the genesis of the masters,
You Load pain and deliver peace,

Keep me in your arms,
Cherish me under your companion,
Don’t lose me from your fist else I will be finished!
