Aura turns three! It has been a journey of three fruitful years of insight and inspiration while we made an effort to not only educate, inform and entertain it readers but also to motivate and challenge them. The month of March dawns with two more important occasions to commemorate – The International Women’s Day and the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.
International Women’s Day calls on us to challenge stereotypes, dismantle barriers, and create opportunities for women to thrive in every aspect of life. It is a day to honour the progress women have made and acknowledge the challenges that still lie ahead. It is a reminder that gender bias, in all its forms, continues to hold women back, whether in the workplace, at home, or in the public sphere.
The soul-nourishing month of Ramadan is about to grace the world, uniting millions in devotion, reflection and compassion. It serves as a time for introspection, self-discipline, and fosters a sense of solidarity among fellow human beings. May the blessings of Ramadan bring peace and prosperity everywhere.
The prayer for peace and efforts to ensure human rights to all human beings is the need of the hour with tribulations prevailing all over the world. While Gaza is still being suffocated, oppression of the minorities and marginalised continues in our country. A mosque and a religious school that were razed by government officials in Haldwani, Uttarakhand showcased the unfair and ruthless rule that couldn’t even wait for the court hearing of the matter scheduled for February 14th. Violence has erupted in and around the town since then and has further deepened religious divisions. Meanwhile endless efforts are being made to curb the farmers’ protest and several accounts on X and Facebook which functioned as official pages of farmers’ organisations and unions ahead of their ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest have been withheld seemingly upon government’s request.
Aura’s writers have adorned its third anniversary issue by discussing all the above matters and inspiring its readers through the intriguing regular columns as well. In an age of inundated information, we at Aura aim to cut through the noise and are committed to deliver thought-provoking and well – researched contents that can play a role in shaping the discourse of our time. We have sought to provide a platform for voices from all walks of life, amplifying perspectives that might otherwise go unheard.
We extend our gratitude to all those who were a part of Aura’s three years’ journey – its readers and well wishers for their critiques, comments, admiration, encouragement and voluntary help. As we look ahead to the future, we are excited about the possibilities that lie before us and anticipate your support to materialize them.
Wishing you all a meaningful International Women’s Day and an enriching month of Ramadan.
