The people who fight for women’s rights, human rights, child abuse, racism, and animal cruelty stand ignorant towards the sufferings of the people of Gaza, which shows their hypocrisy.

The world no longer seems like a place with humanity since the genocide in Gaza began. When I read about the sufferings of innocent people in wars before, I used to think we had evolved beyond this. Our generation, I believed, was sophisticated enough to know and support what’s right. However, I was proven wrong. The same world that condemns Hitler for the Holocaust supports Israeli Zionists for their genocide of innocent children, men, and women. Even unborn babies are killed mercilessly. This must be the most documented genocide in history, yet people choose to ignore it. Are Palestinians, not humans? What’s their fault? Why are they deprived of their land? Why are they bombed? Why are they denied their necessities?

Killing any human is a major sin, but the world shows selective empathy towards the victims. The Holocaust of Jews is considered inhuman, whereas the genocide in Gaza is labelled as a war. Where is justice and equality? The oppressors are often portrayed as victims, while the oppressed are labelled as terrorists.

Was the child who lost his entire family, including his father, mother, and siblings, a terrorist? Or the child who lost her legs? Or the child who collected leaves to eat just because he was hungry? Or the child who died during surgery without anaesthesia? Or the child who ate lemons to suppress her hunger? Or the child who has no one to look after? Or the child whose father collected his body pieces in a plastic bag? Or the child who recited the Qur’an while getting his injuries treated? Or the child who lies on a hard couch with his skin sticking to his bone due to famine? Or the child who called his dead mother back? Or the child who left disappointed and hungry because he couldn’t get food? Or the child who fed his share of food to a cat? Or the child who asked her cat not to eat her after she was killed? Or the child who concealed her hunger so as not to hurt her helpless parents? Or the man whose eyes went blind from the bombing? Or the parents who cried helpless tears? Or the mother who died while being pregnant? Or the mother who has nothing to eat or feed her children? Or the father who ate green leaves and animal feed because they had nothing else to eat? Or the people who live in tents because their houses are bombed? Or the people with no blankets, no pillows, no certainty whether they will live the next minute? Or the people whose lips recite, ‘Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal Wakeel’ even after being in a worse state. Are they all terrorists, too? Who is a terrorist? So many questions linger.

The people who fight for women’s rights, human rights, child abuse, racism, and animal cruelty stand ignorant towards the sufferings of the people of Gaza, which shows their hypocrisy. The genocide in Gaza is a heinous crime inflicted upon the innocents, and we must stand and raise our voices for them not only because we are Muslims but simply because we are humans. You don’t have to be a Muslim to support Palestine, but you ought to be a human with humanity. The least we can do is make people aware of this by posting about Palestine as much as we can and boycotting Israeli products and brands that support & fund the genocide of Palestinians.
